The Toskan Casale Foundation Award
On May 20, 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Secondary School, four
students, Natalie Anthonisz, Dyllan Martin, Betty Yang, and Dorothy
De Vera presnted a cheque of five thousand dollars to Gary Robinson,
Executive Director and Susan Sanderson President of The Realistic
Success Recovery Society.
The award is from the Toskan Casale
Foundation founded by Julie Toskan-Casale, Victor Casale and Frank
Toskan who created the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative as an
opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of philanthropy
and how charitable organisations function.
The Executive Director,
Gary Robinson said, "the award shows that hard work, a commitment to
making Surrey a better place, and giving hope to those who have lost
it, is rewarding in many ways. Not only is the recognition
wonderful, but in real terms this grant allows our Society to give
ten more people a home and hope.
Society President, Susan Sanderson
said, “this award recognizes that when you do the right things,
right things happen.
Student Natalie Anthonisz said, “Before this
project, many of us thought we knew about alcoholism and drug
addiction and its effects. Now, after being involved in the project,
it seems to me that everyone, no matter where they came from or what
their past consists of, deserves help.
Dyllan Martin said, “This
project has taught me that with support and encouragement, anything
is possible, including saving lives.”
November 2009, Trilogy House
Three was opened with the funds received from the Toskan Casale
Foundation.

"Addiction should be termed drug desperation, our goal is to eliminate desperation and replace it with hope".
